This was taken from a post I did at a paranormal discussion forum on Facebook.
"In tune or on guard?"
I was inspired to write this because of what I have seen so much of lately. I belong to many para groups, in addition to this one, and every day I see posts that exemplify the topic I am about to address. In all of these groups there are people who claim to be in tune with the spirit world. Many claim to be mediums, sensitives, spirit mediators, you name it, but some of the things they post really amaze me and at the same time have me shaking my head.
In order for everyone to understand what I am getting at, I am using a comparative here. Many people are in tune with animals. We have many of those folks here at this group. Now people who are in tune with animals, are at ease among them. They know that all animals are sentient and that while most are harmless that some other are very dangerous when provoked or when on the defensive. They move among the animals with a great love and respect, and very little fear. They know that a poisonous snake can be dangerous, so they practice caution in areas where snakes may be around, but they do not assume that everything that moves the reeds is a snake. They do not run and grab their rifle every time they hear a noise in the brush, or even a growl in their own back yard. They do not take a can of pepper spray every time they venture out for a walk. Because they are in tune with the animals they do not really walk in fear of the animals. They have spent enough time around them and working with them and communicating with them to be at ease with them, because they are truly "in tune" with them. They are not "on guard" all the time because they are in tune and the animals sense that they are not on guard and therefore the animals do not sense any threat from them. Animals sense fear and tension and see defensive energy as potential aggressive energy, and act accordingly.
Now let's compare this analogy to the person who claims to be "in tune" with the spirits. A person who is truly in tune with the spirit world knows that spirits are everywhere, and that most of the time the spirits we do encounter are human spirits. They do not spend their lives "On guard" as if every spirit is out to hurt them terrorize them or is something inherently evil, just because it tried to contact them in some way. They also know that spirits do tend to be attracted to those that sense them and can offer some form of interaction and or communication. In my house I always have some spirit stopping by because they know I will lend them an ear and try to help with whatever they need at the time. They let me know they are there in whatever way they can, be it an object moving, a noise, a voice, or a shadowy form. Sometimes they touch my shoulder or my hair. They might open a door or close a cabinet. These are the only types of signs, they usually can provide easily, to make us aware of their presence and so this is normal spirit behavior. Especially since we are so wrapped up in our material world and all of it's demands that we may miss the more subtle signs. A person who is in tune with spirits, knows this and it also at ease with spirits, because they know that not every spirit is evil, up to no good or out to get them. They co-exist with the spirits the same way the animal person does with the animals. They do not reach for the crucifix or the holy water every time a spirits makes it's presence known and they do not make assumptions about the spirit based on urban legends, or old superstition. People who do this ruin any chance of the spirit interaction they claim to want or claim to be able to handle.
Supposed mediums that do this and who always seem to feel that a spirit presence is threatening sometimes pass this fear on to the people who consult them which makes a situation worse. Those that are really "In tune" do not react this way to a spirit presence, because fear is not their first reaction to any kind of paranormal activity. Those who so react with an immediate defensive stance are "on guard" not in tune.
I am sad to say that I see far too much of this in these groups. The people who claim to be there to help, often do a dis-service to the people that consult them. They tell people the wrong thing based on their own fears. Every day I see posts that exemplify this exact kind of "fear" based reaction and the actions that follow it. These are also some of the same people who credit so many hauntings to the "native American " spirits and cry "Demon" any time they see a black form or get a quote "Bad feeling", and then get everyone else worked up and frightened and on the defensive. It has gotten to the point that I do not even comment on these posts in the groups anymore because I am so tired of the ignorance, naivety and at time even the megalomania of some of these folks, that I make no attempt to even try to get them to open their minds any more. I gave up because I know that these folks are not ready to really deal with the things they claim to know so well and claim to want to learn more about. Fear can be a healthy thing as it does make us cautious at times when we need to be cautious, but the fear reaction in every situation regarding spirit is not a healthy or progressive thing at all. Some people need to change the way they look at spirits before they can develop any gift they may actually have. Love and understanding, is a universal thing and spirits understand it very well, and they usually will respond to it well. There are good and bad people in this world and in the next, but not every spirit from the next world is an evil entity anymore than everyone here in the world of the living is an evil or dangerous person, so let's stop reacting that way please?
By Laurie Champion from the files of Pinellas/Pasco/ Paranormal
About two months back I got an email from a Music teacher, about a
strange phenomenon he was experiencing. His name is Alex Ceruzzi. Down the line
we spoke on the phone. He was a very educated, rational, well spoken and very nice
man with a very strange problem. He teaches piano and other instrument lessons
in his studio, located in his home. He told me that whenever he does a lesson
with one particular student, as he sits in his chair while she plays the piano,
some strange liquid falls on him. I went on to ask a lot of questions which he
answered as best he could. What I found peculiar is that while water drops out
of nowhere, is one of the most common spirit related phenomenon, is usually
just water, and often cool water, His case was different as this was not just
water. The substance falling on him is clear, viscous, and sticky. He was not
really upset by this event just curious and sort of confused about this strange
We kept in touch and tried together to solve this strange, wet mystery. It began as just a few drops and eventually
after several lessons escalated to large splashes of this substance, always landing
on Alex, not ever on the student. He even tried having his wife come in and
play the piano, and nothing happened. It
was becoming obvious that since this only happened when this girl was there for
her lesson, and she played the piano so it had to be connected to her and not
to Alex or his wife. The student it seems was totally unaware of this and when
he finally showed it to her, he asked if this ever happened to her. She seemed
unphased by it and said that that no, it never happened to her or to anyone at
her home. Somehow I would have expected a teenager’s reaction to witnessing
this phenomenon which she did time and time again to be at least a bit taken
back by it or at least curious. Still oddly enough she never even seemed even interested
in this mystery.
sent me a photo of his music room and I saw the chair where he usually sits
during lessons. Behind him, covering the entire wall is a giant mirror with
glass shelves and lots of framed photos, also with glass panes over them. For
me this is a very telling detail. Now Alex runs a humidifier in his music room
for the best climate for the piano, which could figure in also. You see, a
piano will only stay in tune so long as the relative humidity level in the air
remains constant. Now being as glass is an amplifier for light and spirit
energy as well, this wall of glass and mirror behind him does contribute to the
energy build up there. We can rule out condensation coming from the glass
because it is behind him not over his head and the glass is there are no water
droplets forming on the glass. Alex also examined the ceiling in the very
beginning to insure there was no leak from above, such as a roof or pipe leak
of any kind. The ceiling was pristine and dry.
him ask this student some other questions as time went by and he learned that
she did have some relatives in spirit. She also had a grandmother living out of
the country that was very ill and close to death, in fact some time later this
student went to visit this grandmother who did pass on. I did ponder, before
the grandmother passed, wondering if she was visiting her granddaughter in
spirit by astral travel in her sleep time as sometimes very ill people, near to
death do. Sometimes dying folks have one foot in each world for a little while,
before their transition. They may want to see their relative that they have not
seen in years before they die and will often do this sometimes, even subconsciously.
I thought maybe just maybe, a person still living, but astral traveling may
produce a similar fluid as a ghost, but sticky and thick rather than just
water. Perhaps the tie to a still living, physical body may account for the
sticky substance, rather than just water, as a ghost can produce? I had heard
of a supposed sticky substance that exists in the astral realm that more or
less holds everything together or binds the physical to the ethereal body before.
Although every instance of this kind of astral travel that I know of, has not
been accompanied by this or any other fluid.
Since the phenomenon kept on
after the Grandmother’s passing we know it was not necessarily her, if our
astral traveling theory was right. Still there is always the possibility of an
answer we are not thinking about. Perhaps another living person could be astral
tripping to this place? This would be very hard to do it consistently as astral
travel is not reliable or even possible every time one attempts it. It is a
very hard thing to do at will. Evidence left by astral travel is not something
that has had a lot of study based around it. What if another life form that we
know nothing about was attracted by this music, and broke through some barrier
between the worlds to be present and enjoy music. But why only when this one
girl played? There is so much in heaven and earth we do not know or understand.
Years back a Canadian couple reported a similar experience at an online
forum, with a few spots of this same kind or a similar fluid showing up on the
bed here and there. It was always on his side of the bed. Things really got out
of hand when the man awakened to find his entire side of the bed from his waist
down next to where he lay, soaked in this sticky, viscous odorless fluid. The
top covers and the man’s pajama bottoms were dry oddly enough and there was no
fluid anywhere else but on the under sheet near where he lay. For those
thinking it, no he did not wet the bed. They examined the ceiling again for a
leak and nothing was ever found. Eventually the activity stopped for a year and
then began again, only to come to a halt again. This was the only case I could
find where anything similar involving this sticky liquid had taken place.
In the old days you heard tell of ectoplasm, this gauzy white substance
that supposed mediums produced from their orifices when spirits took over their
bodies. This was later proved to be mostly fraudulent parlor tricks on the part
of these faker mediums, during séances.
But what of all the photos and video showing a white mist like substance
floating into the photo frame in haunted locations? Perhaps there was really
something to the whole ectoplasm theory. Is this fluid a kind of liquid
ectoplasm? I have no clue. I know how the water drops happen by condensation of
humidity in the air when a spirit stays in a certain spot for a time sucking
out all the energy and heat along with it, causing the humidity to condensate
and fall like rain drops. This sticky substance though has me stumped. I
imagine it is happening in a similar fashion.
Since in Alex’s case the substance always falls on him and never the
student, I can only assume this spirits hangs out directly above him. Maybe
this is because the spirit does not want to scare or disturb her young relative?
There is also the possibility that this is some kind of a very protective
spirit, standing guard over this young girl, maybe trying to let Alex know he
or she is watching him. This young lady
comes from another culture and other cultures have their beliefs and their own way
of doing things. One time, as soon as Alex started to question the student he
was bombarded with splashes of the fluid. It was as if someone did not like his
questioning the student.
This is one of the strangest things and I would love to get to the
bottom of it but I live too far away to go and investigate it and as long as
the spirit is not haunting Alex and his wife when the girl goes home, it truly is
better to leave well enough alone. Anyone dabbling there could call in other
spirits or anger this one in their attempts to document anything for their own
I would love to hear from others who have had this kind of experience.

This is until we figure it out, just another mystery of the paranormal world,
perhaps letting us know that there is indeed an unseen world where spirits
still live on after this life.
